Hi, I'm Ron Kelleher

My desire is for you to know God more deeply, understand his Word more clearly, and apply it daily as you live out your purpose-driven life!

A Few Things About Me

  • I didn't attend church or have any formal exposure to God growing up.
  • I attended a fairly small state university, graduated with a degree in business and started working for Procter and Gamble as a sales person.
  • Over my 36-year career with P&G I moved several times to take on positions of increasing responsibility. One of those moves brought me to the Los Angeles area.
  • A neighbor befriended my wife and I and introduced us to a local church. Within a few months we both accepted Christ and our faith journey began.
  • As a baby Christian, I read my Bible looking for answers to questions I had about being a "good" Christian.
  • I joined Bible Study Fellowship and completed their 5-year program. BSF answered some of my questions but not all of them.
  • Over time I joined neighborhood Bible studies and studies for business people. And of course, I kept studying the Scripture to answer my own questions about how to lead a fulfilling, purpose-driven life as a Christian.
  •  When I had the opportunity to retire from my business career early I decided to focus the rest of my life exploring the scripture and helping others who had the same questions I had over the years.

I mention this here so you understand I have been where you are. I know from first-hand experience how difficult it is to thrive as a Christian; especially as a Christian in a secular business world.

I created Bible Study Daily because the desire of my heart is for you to know God more deeply, understand his Word more clearly, and apply it daily as you live out your purpose-driven life!

What is Bible Study Daily all About?

If you are anything like me (and I bet you are) you have felt the tension between doing what you need to do to be successful in life and being a faithful Christian.

As the Apostle Paul said, I know the good I ought to do, but I don't do it (Romans 7:15).

We're just like Paul aren't we?

There are three things you need to make it through life as a faithful Christian. You need to know God more deeply, understand His Word more clearly, and apply it daily as you live out your purpose-driven life!

That is exactly what we want to help you do at Bible Study Daily!

  1. We want you to study God's Word daily. So, we provide you with daily study material to guide you through the Scripture one easy day at a time.
  2. We want you to understand God's Word more clearly. So, in the Genesis-Revelation and Chronological studies we include hundreds of extra notes to help you understand the historic and cultural implications of what you read.
  3. We want you to apply God's Word in your life. So, in the 90-Days in the New Testament, and the New Testament in A Year studies we include prompts to apply God's Word in your life!

Here's a sample of each of the four daily studies to give you idea of what you receive in your daily Bible study:

My Story

Kelleher Family

The Kelleher family on the day I was ordained (Justin, Barbara, Ron, & Rebekah).

For years and years, I read through the Bible every year. Sometimes I would get behind for a few days, feel guilty, and have a marathon reading session to get caught up!

Then, when I retired from  a 36-year corporate career in order to attend seminary (2009) , I was reading and studying the Bible ALL the time, so I gave up the usual “read a little every day throughout the year plan.”

After graduating from seminary (2012), I spent two years as Chief Operations Officer of a global missions organization. I was in the Bible regularly preparing lessons, and an occasional sermon, but still not reading every day.

In 2012, I left the missions organization to heed God’s call to help minister to Christians in the marketplace through a blog and podcast (ronkelleher.com). Writing and publishing  a weekly article required a lot of concentrated study, but again, I was not reading and studying God’s Word on a daily basis.

And that brings me to 2015.

One of my goals for 2015 was to read through the Bible once again. To re-establish that habit of being in God’s Word on a daily basis.

BUT, I decided I didn’t want to simply read through the Bible. I wanted to study as I went and to make notes in the margins of things I found interesting. On my very first day, I realized making notes in the margins wasn’t enough so I decided to keep a journal of the interesting things I noticed every day in my reading.

Reading the Bible through is wonderful.

Making notes in the margin helps me remember key points in the scripture.

But WOW!

Writing my study notes down in a journal brought out a richness in the scripture that I have never, ever realized before. Despite all my years of reading through the Bible, and despite all that concentrated study in seminary, the simple act of journaling what I learned from the scripture that day has been the best experience ever!

I would love to have you join me on this journey.

Join with me in reading, study, and journaling your way through the Bible this year. I’ll post my thoughts every day, and I’d love it if you would join in by leaving a comment with how the scripture spoke to you.

Together, as members of the family of God, we will read, study, and journal our way through the Bible this year. And I promise, studying God’s Word this way will bring a richness to your life that you have never experienced before!
